Mercedes Benz FW Russia

Mercedes Benz Fashion Weeks have begun & what better way to kick it off than the showing of amazing collections by extremely talented Russian designers ! This year for Russian Fashion week, the over-all theme matched perfectly with the predicted style trends of Paris, NY, Milan and London; oversized, pops of colour, neutrals, turtle necks and fur; lots of fur. Combinations of patterns, fabrics and colour were embraced and even the modern, simplistic shape play made an appearance. From the colourfully bold, to the neutrally casual right down to the cyber-gothic, Russian Fashion Week was a celebration of a myriad of designers' ideas come to life- there's nothing more spectacular.

There was a heap of different European Designers in RFW but I have picked out just a few of my faves that resonated with me. without further ado, let's get into it !

Love this very 70's inspired collection that still has hints of modernity to it; the colour combinations and pattern play are to die for and I am absolutely in love with the hued colours. The initial factor that drew me into Antonella Rossi's line up was the pops of soft baby pinks : the gorgeous full length trench/dad coats in pink short length fur complete the line up perfectly. Another thing which is amazing in this collection is the use of hats; from the fur green hat to the floppy nude/black hat, Antonella Rossi knows how to do hats well and make them look highly classy.

Bessarion FW15 gave me huge nostalgia of Alex Wangs FW15 line up, and seeming as though I absolutely ADORED his collection, this line up drew me in deep. Blacks, whites, dark blues and greys were the main colours of Bessarion- with fabric draping and fringe inclusion being my favourite details of each look. Creating a relaxed yet fierce look, pieces coordinated perfectly together to make the ultimate grungy, high fashion goth that's so in right now. Can we talk about the hairstyles? I am pleasantly freaked out. this collection reminds me of the grudge and i love it.

One thing I highly admire in collections is the ability of the designer to create toned down, wearable looks with a n inclusion of a pop of colour that is daring and unique. Bella Potemkina managed to turn the neutrally relaxed and minimalist collection into a creative work of art with a small change; the inclusion of a bright pop of red. The red works in favour of the neutrals to bring out the neutrals themselves and to create a highly eye-popping and unique look. Blood red stands out the best on the street, so why not wear it this winter? Bella Potemkina showed us that red looks bomb combined with a myriad of looks. loveeee.

Dasha Gauser's FW15 line up drew me in instantly due to the soft pastel colour palette; so flattering, feminite and unique to the traditional fall/winter colours. One of the best things about this collection is the soft palette combined with hints of black to even out each look nicely; shown in several looks above. My favourite has got to be the lemon bomber with the black ink print, as well as the lavender off shoulder dress that is a delicate balance of the structured with the flowy. Props to Dasha Gauser for her unique approach to a fall/winter collection.

This collection is absolutely to die for and is one of my favourites out of all the Russian Fashion Week designers line ups. Again we have seen that the combination of the neutral with the bold proves to be a winner with both the human eye and the die-hard fashionistas; it creates such a modern and artistic approach to fashion. Jenya Malygina's line up featured a play with sheer, bold lines and leather that tied in together to create one queen of a collection. My favourite is the combination of neon midi skirt and leather look loose turtleneck crop shirt (shown far right).

Kajf&Kajf turned to leather for their main inspiration of this collection; playing around with different colours of leather and combining leather looks with other fabrics to create a desired effect. Allowing the glossy finish and colour of the leather to do the talking, Kajf&Kajf kept their designs to a minimal with the inclusion of a bright lip sported on models. Overalls are back and im dyinggggg, they're so so good. My favourite looks are all the ones above, I cannot choose between them, they're all fantastic.

A myriad of fabrics, colours, shapes, drapes and lines were witnessed at Oksana Fedorova's line up; featuring the cigarette pant and the fluffy pump heels (my die hard favourites). The full length pink trench coat caught my eye, and the baby blue fur vest spoke to me on a different level & i'm so so amazed at the range of fabrics Fedorova chose to create a central concept to her line. A selection of shirt collars were also seen; from the turtleneck to the peper pan, v-neck and the standard high cut finish- this line up took no time to confide in just one standard look.

By far the most killer collection, Sakhabult FW15 focused on furs and its' ability to coordinate with a variety of different looks to create a desired effect. The result? a flawless, praise-worthy line up that screams QUEEN!!! My favourite fabric this fall/winter is definitely fur and i'm loving the way Sakhabult played around with it other than just creating a standard fur coat. Different colours and shapes of fur coordinated into and complimentary to outfits, what could represent winter any more than fur? I love Sakhabult FW15.

thanks for reading& stay tuned for more...
