Foot Frenzy/ Miu Miu & Rochas PRE-FALL 2015

_________________________________________

If there’s one thing that every girl’s obsessed with: it’s shoes. I can’t speak for all, but I can speak for many and I am almost certain that there’s a small part of every girl’s life that revolves around the obsession, the love and the constant dreaming about all things shoe related.

__________________________________________

The coolest thing about shoes is that they can transform an outfit, have incredible versatility and be complimentary to your body type all in one. Shoes have the ability to turn an outfit from daytime to nighttime, from casual to glam (or vise versa), or from boring to eye-catching. Shoes can also work to compliment your whole wardrobe, and can lengthen or shorten your legs depending on what you’re going for. That’s just some of the reasons why I love le shoes so much.
They are also a fantastic investment: $200 on shoes is more reasonable than $200 on a dress; you can re-use the shoes for years to come but you’ll be lucky to wear that damn dress 20 times in your whole life before letting it collect dust and breed moths. Sorry, it had to be said (I’m guilty of this too, don’t worry). A good pair of shoes is easily re-usable, re-vampable and always stylish. Love.

Without further rambling, let me give you an insight on finding the perf shoe for the perf you !!!

Shorter Girls: (5 ft 5 & under)

For those of us blessed with the petite frame, sadly, not every shoe is the most complimentary for our shortness. That being said, if you like a shoe, wear it ( there are no rules here!!). However, there are a few more complimentary choices out there for us short girls to rock that work as an illusion of giving us longer, leaner legs and add inches to our height (that’s a yay from me!)

Best shoes for short girls include

    High heeled pointed boots:
These give an illusion of longer , leaner legs and add a feminine touch with the pointed heel. They can also add 1-5 inches depending on heel height, and the bulkier the heel, the smaller the leg will appear.

      Wedged Sandals:

Awesome for us shorter girls because it allows us to wear an open toe shoe without giving the illusion of stumpy legs. The biggest perk is that they’re incredibly stylish at the moment& the bulky wedge also works to make the whole leg instantly smaller which is always a plus.

Shoes for taller girls (5 ft 5 & over) :

Let me just clarify that just because I'm saying that some shoes are better for your height than others, doesn't mean I'm telling you not to wear them if you're tall/short etc. For taller girls though, I find that almost any shoe works in their favour (god damn those long legs) and very little shoes can work against their favour in terms of awkwardness, except for a 10 inch stiletto, but that goes for everyone. Taller girls usually have an easier time finding flattering yet simple footwear and can, on occasion (and i've seen this personally) even make the good ol' Aussie thong look chic. I'm not saying to go buy a pair of thongs though, girls. Please leave that for Australia day only.

Best shoes for taller girls include:

Birks:
Birks are in and all of you are just gonna have to accept the birk looks hot when styled accordingly. Taller girls rock the birk cause the birk is designed to make your feet a bit hobo looking and on us shorter girls it completely diminishes any sort of leg length we already have; I own a pair of birks and trust me I DO NOT look good in them unless my whole leg is covered by a baggy pant. Taller girls however can wear birks with literally any outfit; shorts, skirts, skinny jeans etc. and it'll look fab. Plus, they're super comfy.

Sneakers:
There's something about the laid-back, youthful nature of the sneaker that's stealing the hearts of fashionistas all over the world and introducing itself BACK into the fashion scene from the 70's. Sneakers are definitely underrated because they can be very complimentary to the outfit you put on. In taller girls, sneakers look amazing because they don't take away any leg length and and bring a playful, laid-back atmosphere into an otherwise dressy outfit- which is always awesome if you aren't quite ready for that formal look.

Fit for all:
Here are some shoes which I feel can suit anyone's height and compliment a heap of outfits through the art and magic of transformation. We all know that a shoe with a slight heel is highly flattering, wearable on any occasion, and very, very comfortable. There are so many different styles of shoes with slight heels out on the market today and I'm obsessed; my favourite include literally any Senso shoe and Wittners amazeballs new Walktall AW15 collection. I am thoroughly certain that if you're looking for a good shoe that's so wearable, look no further than a 1-2 inch heel; it'll add some height and still be very comfortable to wear, your feet won't be screaming at the end of the day if you aren't used to wearing high heels.

and of course.. no blog post about shoes is complete without its' own section dedicated to the holy, mind-numbing, eye-popping, sensational, heart-stopping, warming, amazingggggggg boot.

I don't know what is is about boots and me but I'm totally, completely in love. Boots are elegant, yet edgy. Boots are warm and comfortable, easy to wear and easy to style. Throw on a pair of boots and you're ready for a night out, a shopping trip, a cold winders day, a day of running around the city, grocery shopping, working, etc. The list is endless, which proves you can't go wrong with a pair of boots on yo' feet. When it doubt, throw on some boots.

BUT DON'T JUST STICK TO BOOTS!!
Fashion to me is versatile and transformable: keeping things fun in the wardrobe is my biggest tip. Don't get thrown into some never ending cycle you've created for yourself by sticking with the same style of clothes or colours simply because you told yourself that what you like, or you feel too shy or slack to dig into more choices. Experiment! Try new patterns, new styles, new colours of boots. Don't stick to one style of shoe cause you told yourself that you only look good in that style. Don't limit your variety just cause of a season, and for gods' sake don't abandon colour ! I rarely ever see coloured shoes anymore on the streets and it makes me upset. This year, I told myself I'm stepping out of my comfort zone and playing with colour: thus this is why I'm currently on a hunt for the perfect pair of funky neon pink shoes. That being said, I think I'll start with browns and caramel colours first (if anyone knows a good caramel coloured boot that's not $1000+ thanks maison martin margiela, let me know asap cause i'm not quite a millionaire yet.)

MIU MIU/ ROCHAS PRE FALL 2015 COLLECTIONS

There is a few reasons why I am utterly, profoundly surprised with Rochas&Miu Miu PF15. 1. 70's revamped for modern 2015 style is confirmed & 2. Girl Scouts and Dad coats never looked so hot. Please remind me to sleep tonight because miu miu will be in my dreams and rochas will be on my mind the first thing upon waking. You can hear the push of the nostalgia button as 70's kids reminisce of the simpler times with the upcoming releasing collections and rochas/miu miu just hit the nail on the head. I am absolutely in love with oversized trench coats/jackets/coats at the moment and I love the fact that Rochas decided to include varieties of patterns, styles and colours to add diversity into their collection and allow for combination with other garments. Miu miu.. oh miu miu. I doubted you at first, I doubted you twice, I will never doubt you again. Girl scout attire and high knee socks were all the go for the pre-fall 2015 line, I love the simplicity of the models faces and the childish poses; perfectly represents youth and compliments the garments. So girls, where are the cookies?

thanks for reading& stay tuned for more...
